Life can feel like an endless sprint at times. Good work is rewarded with more work and personal life can add to life’s complexities.
While there are times there is no option but to grind, we can be more mindful and assertive when it comes to downtime.
Not everything is an emergency. We do not have to complete all daily tasks on the to-do list. Review what is necessary to be done that day, week, and month.
Next, schedule downtime, even if all you can manage is 10 minutes and schedule it like a meeting. We can make excuses that we don’t have time for ourselves; however, oftentimes we are inefficient with our time and/or need to reprioritize.
Downtime is necessary. It recharges us and keeps us healthy. We can be more efficient and productive when flex is built into our routine.
